Can I submit MY game?

SFG looks to publish high-quality games that offer the hobby gaming market fantastic gameplay experiences through:

     1) innovative mechanics

     2) unique & powerful themes

     3) head-turning table presence.

We only look at submission-ready games that have all the rules, components, mechanics, and functional art/graphic design completed. (Don't worry, we'll take care of final art ourselves!) Submission-quality games also have been through at least 25 playtests with 80%+ positive feedback.

If you meet these requirements and are ready to submit your game, please review the information here and provide your top-level game information via the Submission Form.

What is SFG looking for?

We are actively looking for ANY game that meet the above requirements. We are especially interested in solo games (1 Player only) and multi-use card games.

What is SFG *not* looking for?

We are not looking for 18XX, CCG's/LCG's, nor children's games. We are also not looking for games that use roll-and-move mechanics, are over 3 hours duration at any player count, or are "skinned" or game "clones" that are nearly identical to products currently on the market.

What will I need to do as a designer?

As the designer, we want to work closely with you to ensure the best presentation of the game. To that end there are a few responsibilities you will have during development and finalization of a game.

You provide the following:

  • Mock up a fully functional and "content complete" prototype.

  • Keep update-to-date rules drafts. (We'll edit and layout the rulebook ourselves!)

  • Develop the game, making changes based on feedback, or as requested.

  • Participate in playtests.

  • Attend events and help man SFG booths.

  • Provide your own feedback on SFG art, box, components, etc. during production.

  • Answer any and all questions!

  • Start work on, or be ready for, promos, stretch goals, expansions, and/or additional content, as requested.

What does SFG do as a publisher?

There are many, many steps and disciplines required to publish a game. Each title is unique with specific needs and requirements and SFG is ready to tackle them all!

We provide the following:

  • Funding (internal and/or crowdfunding)

  • Development (directed/blind playtesting, publisher feedback, analytics)

  • Production (sourcing, printing, assembly, quality control)

  • Logistics (importing, warehousing, shipping, world-wide distribution)

  • World-wide distribution (partnerships, localization)

  • Marketing (SFG website, 3rd party websites, ads, sponsored events, contests)

  • Public Relations (press releases, news, blogs, podcasts, interviews, demo copies)

  • Community Management (social media, BGG, FAQ, updated rules)

  • Customer Service (product issues, replacements)

  • Legal (contracts, issue resolution)

  • Licensors (IP acquisition, stakeholder liaising)

  • Events (booths, demo staff)

Why publish with SFG?

SFG's founder, Adam Hanson, has produced over 50 published video game SKU's on all major computer, console, and hand-held platforms. He has worked directly with partners and IP's such as: Intel, Epic Games, Warner Bros., Lord of the Rings, Mortal Kombat and more. He brings many years experience designing both digital and tabletop games, refining existing productions, handling logistics, and is heavily researching both industries, including cutting edge technologies that may revolutionize gaming such as AR, VR, and 3D printing, and more. He began SFG with the intent to bring video game properties, methodology, and professionalism to the board game industry.

What do I get out of the deal?

Every game is different, but it primarily depends on funding method, cost of goods, and whether an intellectual property is being utilized. We will negotiation with each designer either an appropriate royalty % on net sales, an advance fee, a flat fee, or a combination of these. Also we are committed to providing copies of the game to major contributors and will ALWAYS print the designer's name on the front of the box!

What are the next steps?

  1. First you will submit your game information using the Submission Form below.

  2. If we are interested, we will contact you for a copy of the game rules within a week.

  3. Following this we may ask for a prototype to be sent. (Please do not send any unsolicited materials.)

  4. If the game fits our product line, we will then move to contract, start finalizing the game, and begin marketing efforts!
